“I Only Call You When It’s Hot Outside”

Now that the summer is nearing an end, though kicking and screaming on the way out, we can recall the recent scorching heat wave that it brought upon us SoCal residence.  As an HVAC contractor I am always thinking about how how to keep our clients comfortable and prepared for the worst, even when the outdoor temperatures are mild.  I have a personal misconception that my clients think about these things on a regular basis as well.  I am usually reminded by my close family and friends that it is just my strange obsession with heating and air conditioning that causes this disorder. I can’t count the amount of HVAC systems I walk by on a regular basis and by the sound alone, I want to alert the owner that there is an issue.

First I’d like to ask, what were you doing on labor day weekend of 2022? I was fixing air conditioners on my birthday weekend until I ran out of parts and refrigerant as did the rest of my small crew, after which I seized the opportunity to leave town to a cooler climate. The next day (Tuesday after the holiday) we stocked the trucks as the heat was not about the let up. This continued for weeks.

If you were uncomfortable this summer and looking to upgrade your home comfort system, now is the time to call an HVAC contractor.  If you had an issue with your HVAC in early September of 2022, you know the struggle. Phone lines for every HVAC contractor were blowing up and there was not enough technicians to care for all of the SoCal residence that needed emergency service let alone a new installation.

The weather is starting to get nice out now, so why should you worry about it?

When it is 100 degree outside, it is often 130 degrees plus in the attics that we work in. This means more frequent breaks for safety and hydration, horribly exhausting conditions to work in, shortage of equipment and tight time constraints to be met due to a busy schedule.  It should not be a surprise that this reflects on your service bill. The middle of summer is most definitely NOT the time to install AC!!!

Here at Controlled Comfort we are glad to help you with your indoor comfort concerns in the most unbearable weather to the extent that our small company can handle.  We hold customer service to the highest standard and will never compromise quantity over quality.

Please consider this a friendly reminder to get your maintenance service scheduled and any HVAC additions or upgrades completed during the fall and spring.  The hottest and coldest time of year is for unexpected repairs only. Be prepared, budget and plan so that you and your family stay comfortable and safe during the winter and summer. You will be glad that you did.

Call (310) 387-3310 to schedule a maintenance, repair or install today!
